What are EMF’s and how do we best minimise their negative effects?
/It is a fact that Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs) are all around us. In our homes, shopping centres, schools and of course in the work place. You can’t see them and most purport not to feel them, but they are undoubtedly having an influence upon our bodies.
Symptoms of EMF exposure can include the following:
Sleep disturbances, including insomnia
Headaches
Depression and depressive symptoms
Tiredness and fatigue
Aching joints
Dysesthesia (a painful, often itchy sensation)
Lack of concentration
Changes in memory
Dizziness
Understandably, these are all issues that can impact upon your wellbeing and ability to function optimally in all facets of your life, including work.
So, what are you to do?
There are lots of ways you can help reduce your exposure to EMFs so why not try some of the following:
Avoid body contact with your mobile phone or invest in a quality cover that specialises in EMF protection
Put your home wifi on a timer or turn it off when it is not in use e.g. when you are sleeping
Have a salt lamp on your desk at work - these natural negative ionisers and can help neutralise the negative effects of EMFs
Spend more time in nature - get outside and away from technology, have technology free days
Downgrade your cordless phone or earphones back to old school ones with cords that transmit less and therefore reduce the negative impact upon your ears in particular
Put your mobile phone onto flight mode whenever you can, and ensure that the wifi and Bluetooth functionality is also disabled
Ensure your bedroom is a device free space and if you can, switch your mobile phone, iPads and computers off at night/when not in use
These are just a few suggestions for you to try, however I urge you to do your own research. Some sources state there are currently no negative impacts reported as a result of EMF exposure, but you must also know that this is a vastly understudied area and we currently have no long-term data available. Get empowered about the best ways to invest in your health and well-being and remember we are only given this one earth-suit (body), so we must look after it.
