Join a community of men who gather to have more meaningful conversations.
We are more connected today than ever before in human history. Social media and technology bring our entire network to our fingertips with the ease of a button. But how connected are we really? Men in Australia are fatter, sicker and sadder than any other generation and the statistics say it’s getting worse.
Current images of, ‘masculinity’ and ‘man-hood’ have been largely shaped by the mainstream media, advertising and the beliefs of men generations before us. Some of these are healthy and have worked well for us, whilst others are obsolete or dated, leaving us feeling inferior and never quite enough.
James & Luke of The Mens Collective, supported by Wellineux, want to challenge the stereotypes of what it is to be a man today.
Using the art of conversation, storytelling and facilitation, we aim to rebuild the framework of what it means to be a man. Whilst building a community of men who are there to support each other through the sharing of experiences with open hearts and minds.

ABOUT JAMES & LUKE
Typically we work with men aged 25-55 who are going through a transitionary phase of life, whether it be having children, buying their first home or leaving a life partner. Change brings about uncertainty and sometimes anxiety or depression. What we as humans don’t realise is that we all go through the same experiences, regardless of our financial status or upbringing.
We’ve created a community of men that gather together to have more meaningful conversations. To discuss what is happening in our lives and how it is affecting us. Through this sharing, we realise that we are all the same in our experiences and therefore less alone in what we feel. Breaking down the isolation that men feel when consumed by their experience. Bringing men out of their shell and normalising the feelings that come with change.
